Job Description

Salary: $150,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • A Masters degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 9 years of technical experience in software development (or 7 years if holding a Masters degree)
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a formal team lead, technical lead, or functional manager overseeing software development teams
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) is a mandatory requirement for this position
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring technical talent
  • Experience in developing input for technical and cost volumes of defense proposals
  • Direct experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the design authority, leading the architectural design and implementation of high-assurance embedded software products
  • Champion and enforce efficient development processes while creating best practices for source control, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Conduct comprehensive code and design reviews to ensure the delivery of secure and high-quality software that meets stringent defense requirements
  • Act as a hands-on technical contributor or subject matter expert on key projects to help resolve technical challenges
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Systems, Electrical, and other Engineering Managers to strategically allocate assignments to maximize productivity
  • Manage financial responsibilities as a Cost Account Manager (CAM), planning, budgeting, and overseeing earned value for assigned work packages
  • Lead the creation of technical documentation and accurate Basis of Estimate (BOE) cost models for new engineering proposals
  • Coach and mentor a talented software engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Oversee the full recruitment process, including defining needs, conducting interviews, and managing hiring and onboarding
  • Perform formal evaluations, manage compensation planning, and address personnel issues to maintain a high-performing team
  • Manage manpower and resource allocation within a matrix organizational structure, balancing functional and program needs
