Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team in Palo Alto, California, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. This role will focus on preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of corporate tax laws, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities: - Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including multi-state filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and mitigate potential risks. - Stay informed about changes in federal, state, and local corporate tax regulations to maintain compliance. - Assist in audit preparations, respond to tax notices, and support corporate tax planning initiatives. - Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and clarify reporting requirements. - Maintain precise records of tax filings, correspondence, and related documentation. - Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on optimizing corporate tax strategies. - Utilize tax preparation software such as UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or Lacerte to streamline processes. - Conduct reviews to ensure all tax filings meet deadlines and regulatory standards. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in corporate tax preparation, including multi-entity and multi-state returns. - Strong understanding of federal and state corporate tax regulations. - Proficiency in tax preparation software such as UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or Lacerte. - Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to handle complex tax matters. - Outstanding time management capabilities to meet strict deadlines. - Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical tax concepts. - CPA or EA certification is a plus, though not required.
