Job Title: Registered Nurse – Psychiatric (RN Psych)
Location: Cooperstown, NY 13326
Assignment: 13 Weeks | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: Variable nights, including weekdays and weekends
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Required
Pay Rate: Local: $1,966/week | Travel: $2,281/week
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Registered Nurse – Psychiatric (RN Psych) for an exciting job in Cooperstown, NY .
ResponsibilitiesAdminister medications safely and accurately
Complete timely and thorough documentation
Provide clinical oversight and support for Nursing Assistants/Techs
Assist with direct patient care as needed, including 1:1 observation
Perform required hourly rounding (RNs rotate patient checks)
Participate in safety protocols, including restraint/seclusion room procedures
Collaborate with security for restraint situations (transitioning to TRUST de-escalation model)
Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for all patients
Experience in acute psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
Ability to work in a secure, locked unit
Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
Flexibility to support the unit during expansion and changes in patient census
Comfortable functioning as a sitter or assisting with tech-level tasks when needed
Required: None currently
Upcoming Requirement: TRUST de-escalation certification (provided by facility)
