Career Opportunity :

The Production Manager will manage the day-to-day activities of maintaining the facility operations, including safety policies, personnel, housekeeping, maintenance, production activities, and customer requirements for the converting department. You will serve as a member of the management leadership team and will provide direction to the manufacturing facility including overseeing plant production, materials, equipment and tools to ensure efficiency is maintained and projects remain on schedule. You will also serve as a coach to team members and assist in the development and evaluation of direct reports.

This position is located at the Plymouth, IN facility.

  • Work closely with plant staff to provide a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for meeting plant and company objectives.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Assure conformance of finished product to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
  • Direct, teach, coach and train manufacturing employees.
  • Responsible for maintaining shop floor metrics, visual controls, continuous improvement methods to the manufacturing floor.
  • Direct and execute daily production schedules.
  • Ensure daily reporting and accuracy of production results.
  • Management of manufacturing associates to include performance reviews, hiring and corrective discipline.
  • Directs, teaches, coaches and trains all direct reports.
  • Monitor and administer attendance and vacations.
  • Ensure that all paperwork and system transactions are completed timely and accurately.
  • Maintain housekeeping excellence.
  • Follow all safety rules and execute all job duties in a safe manner.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on the coordination of plant activities through planning with Superintendents to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review customer requirements and specifications to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Manage P&L, capital expenditures, manufacturing costs and operating efficiencies to improve plant profitability.
  • Monitor and control waste management to manage production costs and reduce environmental impacts.

What you need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma or GED - required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience within a packaging production manufacturing facility - Required
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and improvement processes.
  • Ability to effectively implement change.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental rules, laws, state and federal guidelines.
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and display a sense of urgency.
  • Process a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of necessary disciplines in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effectively manage time.
  • Established courses of action for self-and/or others to accomplish specific planning goals.
