WORKING TITLE: Infection Control Nurse Monitor

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Health Services.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC central office in Tallahassee.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead the charge in overseeing and reporting infectious disease outbreaks, including conducting thorough contact investigations.
  • Develop and implement exciting infection control educational programs on topics like tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases, and wound care.
  • Analyze and maintain data on infectious disease outbreaks and control efforts, ensuring accurate reporting from the Comprehensive Health Care Contractor (CHCC).
  • Ensure CHCC conducts evaluations and implements strategies to prevent or limit the spread of diseases, aligning with community standards and coordinating with the Florida Department of Health.
  • Serves as the backup medical liaison for the Utilization Management Team, coordinating medical transfers and specialized care for inmates, and providing recommendations for those needing advanced medical services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
