Job Description

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the company's accounts payable, accounts receivable, general coding, data entry, and clerical tasks. This position may also assist other general administrative duties.


The Accounting Clerk should be reliable and able to work with great attention to detail and safety standards and be willing to learn and improve. We also expect them to be good team player.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and associated data entry.
  • Maintain financial records within the department.
  • Assist with clerical needs for other business areas, including but not limited to Human Resources, Quality, and Engineering
  • Maintain current insurance certificates for suppliers and vendors.
  • Attending recommended/required training to achieve benchmark quality.
  • Recommend improvements to help achieve department and company goals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Controller or Assistant Controller

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional accounting education or certificate a bonus.
  • 2+ years of administrative or clerical experience; accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting systems
  • Strong computer skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel abilities.
  • ERP experience preferred (IQMS or Epicor a bonus)
  • Ability to accurately maintain confidential records and document data.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with internal and external customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical Demands: Sitting over extended periods in an office environment; occasional standing and walking.
