Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA), a subsidiary of Hyundai and Kia Motor Companies, provides premier IT services across North America. We seek a Cyber Security/Network Engineer II to support our network and cybersecurity operations, ensuring a secure and reliable IT environment.
As an HAEA employee, you will provide dedicated support to Hyundai Translead - a leading manufacturer of dry and refrigerated van trailers, domestic containers, container chassis and converter dollies for the North American transportation industry. Hyundai Translead is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company Korea headquartered in San Diego, CA with three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Tijuana, Mexico.
What we’re looking for:

We are in search of a mid-level Cyber Security/Network Engineer to work 5 days a week on-site at our state-of-the-art office in San Diego, CA and will be responsible for supporting the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network and cybersecurity systems.

What you will be doing:

This focuses on configuring and monitoring Cisco networking technologies, security tools (e.g., SentinelOne, Splunk, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection solutions to maintain network performance and security. The engineer collaborates with senior team members to resolve issues and follows established procedures to support the enterprise’s cybersecurity posture. Additional roles & responsibilities will include, but necessarily be limited to the following:
  • Network Support:
    • Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks (APs, WLC) with guidance from senior engineers.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN performance and connectivity using SolarWinds (IPAM, NMS).
    • Document network configurations and maintain asset inventories.
  • Cybersecurity Support:
    • Operate and monitor security tools, including:
      • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., SentinelOne).
      • Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS) and Network Access Control (NAC).
      • Web filtering (e.g., Zscaler, Cisco Umbrella) and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
    • Assist in investigating security alerts and escalating incidents to senior engineers.
    • Support Palo Alto firewalls and endpoint protection tools (e.g., Okta).
  • Incident and Operations:
    • Follow change management processes for network and security updates.
    • Assist in incident response and disaster recovery operations.
    • Support backup and restore tasks for network systems.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with senior engineers and IT teams to support network and security tasks.
    • Contribute to testing and implementing technical solutions.

What we require from you:

 
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of IT experience, with 2+ years in network or cybersecurity operations.
    • Experience with Cisco networking (routers, switches, wireless) and security tools (e.g., SentinelOne, Splunk, Palo Alto).
    • Familiarity with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of network and security fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, IPS/IDS).
    • Strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to document processes and communicate clearly.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • Cisco CCNA.
    • CompTIA Security+ or Network+.
