This position is responsible for desktop, laptop, iPad, internet filter, MDM, system support, overseeing the computer replacement plan, and ensuring the proper maintenance of University Schools technology equipment, including tech support to all printers, projectors, computers, and other technology in the Indiana Academy residential spaces, as needed and per Ball State University Information Technology best practices. Minimum Education 1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; OR 2. Associate's degree and two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree. OR 3. High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years. Minimum Experience At least two years of experience supporting desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, networks, and software applications with an emphasis on troubleshooting and system maintenance; working knowledge of MacOS, Windows, and iOS operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.   • Experience in K-12 environment supporting iOS devices via MDM.
  • Additional years of technology support experience.
  • Experience with adhering to information security best practices.
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service across K-12 clients, including students, teachers, and administration.
Preferred Other
  • Ability to strategically plan for annual iOS refresh and rollout to K-12 students.
  • Familiarity with 3D printers, laser cutters, and other maker-space tools.

Provide hands-on assistance to students to enhance their understanding of digital tools, ensuring technology is used effectively for learning and creativity. Ranking 2 Job Duty Building-Wide IT Communication and Support: Serve as a responsive and approachable resource for all members of the school community, including teachers, students, staff, and administrators. Provide timely communication and support for technology-related issues, ensuring a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to tech challenges. Ranking 3 Job Duty Innovation Lab Technology Specialist: Learn, maintain, and train students and staff on the use of iLab technologies, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and other maker-space tools. Provide troubleshooting support and guidance on safe and effective use, fostering an environment of exploration and innovation. Ranking 4 Job Duty Provide technology support for all University Schools hardware, software, systems, and network connectivity; provide basic technology training and onboarding for University Schools staff. Provide event and meeting support for University Schools employees. Ranking 5 Job Duty Oversee the complete lifecycle of student laptops and iPad technology, including MDM deployment, inventory management, procurement, and device support. Coordinate repairs for damaged devices and facilitate timely replacements to ensure seamless access to technology for all students. Ranking 6 Job Duty Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills for current and evolving technologies related to University Schools systems, computers, mobile devices, software applications, hardware, networking, and troubleshooting methodologies while adhering to Ball State University Information Technology best practices. Ranking 7 Job Duty Develop and present an annual technology replacement plan for review by the University Schools administrative team and Ball State University Information Technology. Ranking 8 Job Duty Ensure all technology remains up to date and fully compatible with the operating systems required for state testing, maintaining seamless functionality, and compliance. Ranking 9 Job Duty Track all technology-related issues via the Ball State University Information Technology response system. Schedule reasonable upgrades and installations in conjunction with Ball State University Information Technology. Manage hardware inventory, support, and replacement in conjunction with Ball State University Information Technology. Provide emergency response support for critical technology issues as they occur in the classroom setting. Configure, set up, and maintain equipment used within classrooms.
