Job Description
Excellent opportunity for a
Synthetic Organic Chemist to join a clinical stage Biotechnology company focusing on the development of novel small molecules for cancer treatments. You will engage with the medicinal chemistry group and with external CRO collaborators to design multi-step synthetic sequences and characterize druglike molecules. This is a dynamic, multi-functional environment, and your work will be critical to achieving aggressive project goals. Seeking individuals with early-stage process chemistry/discovery process chemistry .
Location : South San Francisco, CA
Type : 12-month contract
Pay : $70-$90/hr. (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Design multi-step organic synthetic sequences
- Develop and optimize chemical routes for synthesizing compounds in the early stages of drug discovery
- Chemical transformations
- Troubleshoot and optimize challenging chemistry
Requirements
- MS or PhD in synthetic organic chemistry
- Early-stage process chemistry/discovery process chemistry background/experience required
- Ability to purify and characterize chemical intermediates and final compounds with modern characterization techniques (NMR, LCMS, etc.) is a must
- Minimum of 1-2 years of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or agricultural industry experience within a chemistry department
- SME in synthetic organic chemistry with current knowledge of modern multi-step synthesis techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting and optimizing challenging chemistry with a high level of independence
- Excellent communication skills
Estimated Min Rate : $70.00
Estimated Max Rate : $90.00
