Job Description

We are excited to offer a flexible, remote position for a passionate and dedicated Vision Support Teacher to work with K-12 students who are visually impaired. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering essential educational services from the comfort of your own home, supporting students in their learning and helping them develop important skills for success.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct remote vision assessments to evaluate students' needs and progress.
Create and adapt lesson plans and educational materials to be fully accessible for students.
Provide instruction in Braille, low vision strategies, and assistive technology to ensure all students have the tools they need.
Collaborate with school staff to incorporate vision support seamlessly into the general curriculum.
Communicate regularly with parents and administrators to track student progress and adjust approaches as needed.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Visually Impaired from an accredited institution.
Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
At least 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, with experience in remote teaching being highly preferred.
Expertise in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively and work collaboratively with remote teams.
Comfortable using tele-education platforms and technology for effective remote service delivery.
