JOB TITLE: Recycling Program Specialist
DUTIES AND
REQUIREMENTS: Develop, implement and assist in the scheduling and organizing of solid waste/environmental educational presentations to Will County businesses, residential areas, colleges, elementary and high schools. Collect and interpret data related to solid waste generation and recycling practices performed by Will County institutions, departments, municipalities, townships and commercial establishments. Create, develop, and enhance the production of solid waste educational and communications materials related to proper waste management, in coordination with the Division Director and County Executive Office. Supervise contractors to coordinate and support solid waste and recycling programs. Coordinate department activities related to various collection events in collaboration with other members of the Division. Provide presentations and workshops regarding solid waste management and related environmental issues to Will County businesses, residential areas, colleges, elementary and high schools or other areas as assigned. Develop and/or participate in the writing and implementation of grants related to solid waste educational programs.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science/Studies/Health/Education, Communication, Natural Sciences, Public Relations, or a related degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in management and coordination of solid waste or recycling programs. Experience in: providing educational presentations to public audiences; writing grants; presenting information related to solid waste management is preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $82,721 - $98,324 (F8 – G6) (Link to union if applicable:
