Overview:

Halliburton Landmark is seeking an experienced geoscientist who is ready to transition into a product-focused role, leveraging their subsurface expertise to shape the future of geoscience software. This position is for a Product Owner (PO) within the subsurface software portfolio, reporting to the Solution Owner as part of the Subsurface Software Development Technical Business Line.

You will play a critical role in defining and delivering software solutions that enhance usability, user experience, and workflow optimization for DecisionSpace® Geosciences and related technologies.

Job Duties

  • Product Ownership & Agile Leadership
    • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritize the team backlog to deliver features aligned with customer needs.
    • Accept completed stories and collaborate with QA to ensure quality and adherence to acceptance criteria.
    • Maintain and update the product backlog to reflect evolving market and customer requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with Agile development practices and Halliburton's solution development lifecycle.
  • Strategic & Customer Engagement
    • Work with Solution Owner, executive leadership, and stakeholders to define product direction, priorities, and commercial strategy.
    • Support Sales & Marketing with go-to-market materials and assist in preparing regional channels for new releases.
    • Provide external product demos, presentations, and build strong relationships with customers.
    • Participate in professional societies, contribute to technical publications, and maintain domain expertise.
  • Collaboration & Delivery
    • Partner with Delivery Management and Product Engineering to define scope and resource needs.
    • Serve as a liaison between technical marketing (Product Management) and R&D to clarify specifications and validate product requirements.
    • Ensure solutions meet application security standards and usability expectations.
Qualifications

  • Education: BSc., MSc., or higher in Geoscience (Geology, Geophysics) or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3-10 years in subsurface interpretation and analysis workflows.
    • Practical experience with commercial seismic interpretation and geoscience software.
    • Familiarity with DecisionSpace® Geosciences and other Landmark products preferred
    • Previous experience as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of cross-domain geology and geophysics workflows.
    • Commercial acumen and customer-centric mindset.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) and software development trackers.
    • Technical writing, documentation, and use case creation.
    • Background or training in user experience/usability.
