Key Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable about the program's philosophy, regulations, and performance standards, and implement these in the classroom.
Collaborate with the classroom team to plan and create a successful learning environment that nurtures each child's unique developmental needs.
Observe and document children's progress and behavior, using assessment tools to plan activities that foster their growth.
Communicate effectively with the lead teacher, supervisor, and families, sharing key information to support children's development.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment with well-maintained materials and supplies.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and parent functions to stay informed and involved.
Assist in emergency preparedness, including conducting fire drills and ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for families through regular communication, home visits, and volunteer opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills:
EEC qualification for the Teacher position.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people and effectively communicate with children, families, and team members.
Computer skills are a plus; bilingual abilities are beneficial.
Must be able to handle the physical demands of the position, including lifting children and being on the floor during playtime.
Ability to react quickly in emergencies and maintain a safe and responsive classroom environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift children and engage with them on the floor.
Must be physically capable of responding quickly to emergencies, including lifting, bending, and moving swiftly when needed.
Recent physical exam required to meet health and safety standards.
Working Conditions: This role involves working directly with children and families in various educational settings. A background check will be required for all successful candidates.
