Visit our website to learn more: Description of Job What You Will Do This position is located in the Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Unit within the Criminal Justice section of the Colorado Attorney General's Office. The Unit exists to assist the POST Board with the requirements of the statutorily mandated POST created curriculum and the supervision of training efforts of Colorado peace officers. The Unit is responsible for ensuring training needs of the law enforcement community are met by regularly developing and changing existing curriculum, setting and maintaining standards of law enforcement training academies, certifying and decertifying peace officers, and the administration of large amounts of grant funds for peace officer training. This position will primarily work on the academy redesign project. The goal of this project is to develop a more detailed and standardized curriculum that all law enforcement academies will use across Colorado. The focus of the curriculum will be on the science of learning, such as active learning, including hands-on and experiential scenarios. This position will provide logistical and administrative support to the Academy Curriculum Developer. As the project progresses, this position will help with the obtainment and organization of curriculum instructional materials, files and other records, setting meetings, managing communication, etc. After the project has been completed and implemented, this position will assist with the maintenance and compliance of the new curriculum.
