Duties Description

This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, and delivering parts, conducting physical inventories, maintaining security and orderliness of parts/supplies/items in stockroom.

Duties also include the delivery of items to Maintenance Sections, including plow blades and supplies to maintain equipment.

  • Generates move orders, conducts spot checks on the maintenance and equipment impress rooms as well as duties in the stockroom.
  • Maintains files, correspondence, documents, records, materials pursuant to guidelines.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
  • Operation of a motor vehicle will be required. The incumbent must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service allocated to a Grade 07 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

NY HELPS Qualifications

One year of experience where most work time is spent performing activities related to mail receipt, mail distribution, storage, and/or stores keeping.

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified

Additional Pay Information

The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are:

Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $19.48 up to Job Rate $28.25.

Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37.
