Municipal Research Analyst Location New York, NY : Who You'll Work With: We are seeking a Municipal Credit Research Analyst to join our Municipal Bond team. What You'll Do: In this role the Analyst will contribute to a growing ~$60 billion business that invests in both high yield and investment grade securities. You will be responsible for performing in-depth fundamental research to develop forward looking sector and issuer-specific credit views and recommendations. You will work closely with the Municipal Bond portfolio management, trading, credit research, and economics research teams, as well as other investment analysts, portfolio managers, and traders across the firm. The successful candidate will be equipped with strong fundamental research skills and a passion for helping the team generate strong investment performance as well as innovate and systematize our investment process. They will be intellectually curious and will adopt a rigorous approach to their analysis incorporating scenario analysis where necessary. Candidates should be creative problem solvers and either have experience with (or openness to) leveraging technology and data science in the research process. They should also have strong marketing and influencing skills both in advocating investment ideas to portfolio managers and traders internally and in contributing to our ability to win and retain business externally. What We're Looking For:
  • Strong academic credentials and achievements. A Bachelors level degree is required with a post-graduate degree or professional qualification preferred
  • A proven track record of research excellence; high yield experience a plus
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex data systems
  • A high level of initiative and credible influencing skills with the ability to take the lead in advocating investment ideas to portfolio managers and traders
  • Strong marketing and presentation skills with ability to lead a meeting with senior representatives of clients and prospects and to contribute to our ability to win and retain business
  • The ability to cover a range of industries and markets autonomously and to make informed decisions, often in a short time frame
  • The ability to work well in a collaborative, team-based environment
