The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely administering prescribed medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The CMA also assists with monitoring residents’ conditions, documenting care, and providing support with daily living activities while ensuring compliance with facility policies and state regulations. Key Responsibilities: * Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with state regulations. * Accurately document medication administration in the electronic health record (EHR) or medication administration record (MAR). * Observe residents for any adverse reactions to medications and promptly report changes to the nurse on duty. * Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility support. * Maintain proper storage, handling, and accountability of medications. * Provide emotional support and establish positive relationships with residents and their families. * Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times. * Assist nursing staff with other duties as assigned to ensure quality resident care. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent (GED). * Completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide training program. * Current CMA certification and in good standing with the state registry. * Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting preferred. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Compassionate, patient, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist residents with mobility. * Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending. * Must pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screening as required.
