Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading SQL Server database systems.
- Tuning database performance, optimizing queries, and managing indexes.
- Managing user access, permissions, and implementing security policies.
- Implementing and maintaining backup and recovery strategies for data protection.
- Monitoring database health, performance, and availability.
- Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for database configurations and procedures.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of new databases, including schema design.
- Creating database objects like tables, views, and stored procedures.
- Implementing solutions like Always On Availability Groups or clustering for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Monitoring database growth trends and planning for future capacity needs.
- Developing and maintaining scripts for automating routine database tasks.
- Applying SQL Server patches and updates to keep the system secure and up-to-date.
- Ensuring the database environment adheres to security policies and regulations.
- Generating reports and visualizations related to database performance and usage.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 4+ years of Database administration experience specifically on SQL Server 16 and upwards
- Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
- Experience with Transparent Data Encryption within SQL Server
- 2+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining systems documentation
- Bachelor's Degree
