Job Description

ABOUT VIA

Walk into our iconic Portland, Maine Library Building, and you’ll see it right away —

creativity oozes from every corner. We live for the creative idea (and, of course, our summer bocce league).

Come for the monthly potlucks and random trips to the North Pole (really) and stay for the magical strategies that push creative boundaries into work the world talks about.

We are a community of weird and wonderful collaborators who help our clients find their way through creative magic and shared ownership. That’s right, we’re all owners of this award winning 31 year old company that’s been called “The Hogwarts of Advertising.” We’re a group of people who actually like working together in our two time “Small Agency of the Year,” award winning office.

Everyday we roll up our sleeves and bring the magic for our national clients and creative minds. All that and we’re located in gorgeous Portland, Maine. Cobblestone streets, ocean, an outrageous food scene and creative culture that makes you shake your head and say, “I actually live here!?!” And with Friday’s off you’ll actually be able to enjoy it.

Copywriter Role:

Hungry? Good.
We like our juniors like we like our ideas: A little scrappy, and hungry enough to eat an em dash for breakfast.

We’re looking for a curious, sharp, and wildly creative entry level writer with 0-2 years of experience. Someone who’s ready to learn, build brands, and help make work people can’t ignore.

Apply if you:

  • Have taste
  • Hate safe ideas
  • Want to make the weird stuff
  • Are a sponge ready to absorb it all!

Hungry? Let’s feast!

Responsibilities:

  • Starting from a blank sheet, write, develop and nurture ideas into THE IDEA
  • Develop meticulously crafted copy that integrates fundamental business strategy and brand positioning through a defined voice
  • Confidently present concepts both internally and externally

Interpersonal skills:

  • Willingly exchange feedback with all team members to make the work the best it can be
  • Possess strong communication skills and help to create a creative, open and productive work environment
  • Proactively seek opportunities to guide, advise and provide support to all team members

  Qualifications:

  • 0 - 2 years’ experience as a writer, this is an entry level position
  • Proven ability to think conceptually and execute practically
  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ferocious curiosity, invention, imagination and originality in everything you do
  • On-site

Experience level: Entry Level
