Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our client’s team in Knoxville, TN. This role will focus on supporting high-volume cash posting and payment application processes to ensure accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and contribute to process improvements. This is an onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability and growth potential.
Compensation:
$21.00 – $23.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:

• Post daily cash receipts from multiple sources and apply payments to customer accounts.
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and overpayments.
• Reconcile cash activity to bank statements and assist with month-end close.
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues.

Qualifications and Skills for the Accounting Clerk:

• 3–5+ years of experience in cash posting or payment processing.
• Proficiency in Excel; multi-entity experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a high-volume setting.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred); Salesforce experience is a plus.
